Before going to SSB, just remind yourself,about yourself everyday: Read these lines everyday So that your mind gets activated and potential qualities COME UP. This works as magic. When you write the TAT in psychology in your ssb or while doing practice at home, just keep in mind a simple rule. This rule shall make your story come alive, make it look grounded, reasonable and natural. Every picture that is shown to you contains some characters in the picture (even when you imagine a character from outside when there is no character in the picture shown).Who is this character? Is it someone in the picture which you through your thoughts give him actions? Is it your friend? Who is he? Well, he is no one but you. He is YOU. What NOT to write in Self description: Though writing self description is your personal matter. No one can tell you what to write because you know yourself the best. You also don't have to copy other's SD. BUT I could suggest you few lines what NOT TO WRITE. SSB, a game: Every game has rules. The rules are clear to every party playing the game. In SSB too, you are told about the rules like: 1. Every picture would be displayed on the board for 30 seconds 2. Only 4 minutes are given to write a story  3. Word would be shown for only 15 seconds 4. For reaction, 30mins are allotted overall  5. You cannot touch the red mark in GTO 6. If you cannot do an individual task fully, zero marks would be given etc.  So, SSB has got a lot of rules. We are all players in the 5 day game. Points to be Borne in Mind while Writing TAT & PPDT Story I wish to share some views on Story writing during PPDT & TAT: (You get 30 sec to view the picture and 04 min to write a story on it) Let us begin with talking about how to observe the picture when it is shown to you: First look at the background, see the setting of the story, e.g. rural/urban, market place/ building, etc, then closely observe the foreground and see how many characters are there, what are they holding/doing and what kind of work is going on. Tips for SSB: The Service Selection Board is based on a very effective psychological approach. It is completely scientific and hence requires a candidate to be completely honest to himself. Despite several rumours, there are only two things a candidate needs to work on to get recommended. Be worthy of uniform. Do not fake your behaviours/ answers/actions in the SSB.
